Sub-woofers are the overlooked component of a stereo system. They fill in the rich, deepness that mid-range speakers can't deliver. Once you have them, you can't listen without them. Try it yourself. If you have a home stereo system with a passive sub-woofer, unplug it and play your music. Not quite the same, is it?
